About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Manager, who will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies to secure goods and services required for the company's operations. This role involves sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring cost-effective procurement processes.
What you'll do
- Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company's goals for cost competitiveness, savings, quality, and reliability in the supply chain - while mitigating risks related to procurement processes and supplier relationships.
- Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers while maintaining positive relationships. Continuously assess supplier performance and address any issues.
- Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms, including price, quality, delivery, and service level agreements.
- Cost Optimization: Analyze procurement processes to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive cost-efficiency throughout the procurement cycle.
- Inventory Control: Support the management of inventory levels and the demand forecasting process to prevent overstocking or stockouts.
- Compliance: Ensure procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards with regards to sourcing and sustainability.
- Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and emerging suppliers to maintain a competitive edge. Use this knowledge to make informed decisions and adopt procurement strategies accordingly.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of procurement professionals. Provide guidance, goals, and regular performance evaluations and foster a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Reporting: Generate and analyze procurement data and prepare reports for senior management to make informed decisions.
- Sustainability: Promote sustainable and eco-friendly procurement practices to minimize the organization's environmental impact.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as finance, operations, and supply chain to align procurement activities with overall organizational objectives. Foster cross-functional collaboration and communication.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field (a master's degree is often preferred).
- Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, with a track record of successful negotiations and cost savings.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Familiarity with procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Knowledge of procurement regulations, ethical sourcing practices, and sustainability.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
