About the Role

Packsize is seeking an OHS Specialist who will support the consistent implementation and improvement of OHS practices, primarily in the field operations and maintenance of Packsize machines. This position will ensure all team members in the field are engaged in and adhere to Packsize’s OHS expectations, as well as local OHS regulations.

This position requires working knowledge of safety standards and regulations, as well as a continuous improvement mindset. This person must be able to collaborate effectively, both onsite and remotely, with a variety of team members across a wide range of functions, including field service operations, human resources, sales, and customers. In this role, there will be 25-50% travel to support the field and customer relationships.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with the field team members to identify and drive OHS initiatives and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Work directly with the field and customers to ensure compliance with regional occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Support field team members in completing Job Safety Analysis and Corrective Actions for machinery operations and maintenance tasks.
  • Investigate OHS incidents in the field, and support mitigation, corrective, and preventative actions.
  • Monitor and escalate trends for safety incidents, near misses, and hazards.
  • Conduct Job Safety Analysis for tasks related to manufacturing processes and machinery operations and maintenance.
  • Support field safety inspection programs.
  • Complete necessary safety documentation, records, and logs.
  • Collaborate with the OHS team members to improve the OHS program and procedures.

Technical Competencies:

  • Working knowledge of OHS standards and regulations.
  • Direct experience in occupational health and safety, preferably in a field production environment.
  • Experience leading Job Safety Analysis, preferably for machinery operations and maintenance.
  • Experience leading incident and injury investigations.
  • Working knowledge of trending safety incidents to identify leading and lagging indicators.
  • Working knowledge of risk mitigation measures and the hierarchy of controls.

Certifications:

Board of Certified Safety Professionals Certificate (BCSP)

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
  • Safety Management Professional (SMP)

  • Sit/stand at a desk for prolonged periods, primarily sedentary work
  • Communicate with others to exchange information
  • Operate standard office equipment that may require repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Perform tasks that require bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying to move objects

What We Offer

The salary range for this role is $89,100-102,800 however, Packsize considers several factors when determining compensation when extending a job offer, including but not limited to, the role being offered, the associated responsibilities, the candidate's prior work experience, education/training, and any special skills.
