About the Role
The Director, Business Development is responsible for identifying, creating, and pursuing new business opportunities to drive company growth. This role requires a proactive individual who can establish strong relationships with potential clients, analyze market trends, and collaborate with internal teams to develop effective strategies for expanding the business. This position will play a key role in increasing revenue, improving profitability, and ensuring sustainable growth for the company.
What You'll Do
Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Sales Development Representatives to achieve and exceed targets.
Performance Management: Set clear performance metrics and targets for the team, track performance against goals, and provide regular feedback and coaching to drive continuous improvement.
Training and Development: Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to ensure SDRs have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.
Compensation Management: Manage team performance, and ensure SDR commission payouts are timely and accurate.
Identify New Business Opportunities: Research, identify, and target new business opportunities in line with the company’s growth strategy.
Market Research & Analysis: Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes to inform strategic decisions and capitalize on potential opportunities.
Client Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Sales Strategy Development: Collaborate with the marketing, sales, and product teams to develop tailored strategies that align with business objectives.
Lead Generation & Pipeline Development: Monitor and manage the sales pipeline to ensure a steady flow of qualified leads and opportunities.
Negotiation & Closing: Negotiate contracts and close deals with new clients, working to achieve or exceed sales targets.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, and product development to ensure a cohesive approach to business development.
Performance Tracking: Track and report on key performance metrics (KPIs) related to business development activities, providing regular updates to senior management.
Networking & Industry Engagement: Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to represent the company and stay updated on industry trends.
What You'll Need
Experience: 5-7 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field. Experience in managing a sales development organization
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and foster trust.
Proven track record of generating new business and achieving sales targets.
Ability to analyze data and trends to drive decision-making.
Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong negotiation, persuasion, and presentation skills.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Ability to travel up to 50% when needed both domestic and international
What We Offer
The salary range for this role is $180,000-205,000 however, Packsize considers several factors when determining compensation when extending a job offer, including but not limited to, the role being offered, the associated responsibilities, the candidate's prior work experience, education/training, and any special skills.
